Sensory Friendly Films
Families affected by autism and other disabilities now have a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis with the "Sensory Friendly Films" program. In order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for this unique audience, the movie auditoriums will have their lights brought up and the sound turned down, families will be able to bring in their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks, and no previews or advertisements will be shown before the movie. Additionally, audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing unless the safety of the audience is questioned. Tickets are $4-6 depending on location and can be purchased on the day of the event.
Camp Wamp was founded by Stephen J. Wampler, the 1st man with CP to climb Yosemite’s, El Cap. Our camp provides the traditional wilderness summer camp experience to children and young adults with physical disabilities. Each year we see our campers learn independence, social skills, confidence and so much more. Our ask to you is that you share this with any family that may be interested in providing this experience. We have a scholarship fund available to support the families as much as needed.
Lions Camp Tatiyee gives individuals with special needs the opportunity to spend a week away from home in the White Mountains of Arizona enjoying activities and meeting new friends. Through this experience, many campers tell us that they gain independence and confidence by trying new activities and challenging their personal limits. Campers attend for one week in the summer, arriving on Sunday afternoon and staying until Friday afternoon.
